Temples & Archictecture

Pantheon in Rome is an architectural splendor of the Roman times. At the top of the dome is a large opening, the oculus, which is the only source of light. Throughout the day, the light from the oculus moves around this space in a sort of reverse sundial effect. The oculus also serves as a cooling and ventilation method.
The Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in Abu Simbel in Nubia, southern Egypt. It is believed that the axis of the temple was positioned by the ancient Egyptian architects in such a way that on October 22 and February 22, the rays of the sun would penetrate the sanctuary and illuminate the sculptures on the back wall.
